Shoe Review

I have previously posted that I am happy with my New Balance Classics WL-115 Flats that I bought using Zappos, but never really showed them off.

They aren't anything special in the looks department, but they'll go with most everything I wear. The plush foam insert has done its job well during 7+ miles of walking daily for a week. However, I am wondering how long the shoes will last, as they're already looking a bit beat up. The soles still look good. Time will tell.

As for Boo, I purchased the Saucony Kids Ride shoe, also through Zappos. She ran around (literally sprinting at many points) all day yesterday and all seems good. She told me a few times that she loves them. She's walking around the Akron Zoo with her Mimi today and we will see what she says when she gets home. This shoe has a gel heel, which is what her physical therapist recommended.

Just one example of sprinting to the park

Boo picked the colors, if that wasn't obvious.

We are indeed heading for Chicago Monday morning through Thursday, which will let us test out our shoes more and get in some sights. I'm going to go low key, as Boo has a slight cold and I don't want it to turn worse from exhaustion. We will see the Bean and surrounding park, maybe head to a museum and that will be about it. We will enjoy the Westin's pool and relax a bit.

This morning we went to the Pro Football Hall of Fame parade. Once Boo fully woke up, she had a great time. She loved the big balloon floats that would spin, and waved to everyone.

Tomorrow, John and I do the official packing of the final Euro suitcases, which will take maybe an hour or two, tops. Then it'll just be a matter of doing laundry when we return from Chicago and packing my purse for the plane ride. I plan to do a cross stitch, listen to an audio book, and sleep. I'm still deciding what to take for Boo. But first, prepping for our six-hour trip to Chicago! I'm going to buy a backseat organizer and snacks for this round.

  1. There is the Museum of Natural History and the Aquarium. Be prepared though, it costs like 20 bucks to park.
